Sports massage is designed to prevent and relieve injuries and conditions that are associated with exercise. Deep Tissue Massage
A deep tissue massage is designed to reach the deep sections of thick muscles, specifically the individual muscle fibres. It is often used in sports massages as it accesses the deeper muscle fibres which are often fatigued from overexertion.
Deep tissue massage can be used to help break up and eliminate scar tissue which may have developed from previous injuries. Our therapists help ease tension which builds up in the muscles as a result of activity, massaging out toxins and soothing aches and pains. Sports specific massage uses deep tissue techniques designed for individual needs and can focus on specific muscle groups.
Trigger Point Therapy
Trigger point therapy involves the use a deeper and more localised method to release trigger point in the body. Trigger points are hypersensitive areas in muscles, tendons or connective tissue that usually are tender to a client. Trigger point therapy is especially good for people who tent to overwork their muscles causing repetitive strain injuries. Athletes, musician and some workers are prone to developing trigger points as the body will shorten muscles that are over extended to prevent reoccurrence.
Massage during pregnancy can help to reduce swelling, promote relaxation and help the body to prepare and cope with the rigours of child birth. Pregnancy massage can be used to help ease backpain, shoulder and neck aches that may be causes by muscle tension and shifts in posture to accommodate the increasing weight as you carry your child to term.

Swedish massage can be used to help increase the oxygen in the blood and release toxins from the muscles. It can also assist with shortening the recovery time needed from muscular strains, stretching out of muscle fibres and ligaments and tendons. Swedish massage helps to reduce the effects of emotional and physical stress and is suggested as part of a regular program for stress management.
