What To Expect
Perth Sports Massage clinic will provide you with highly trained massage therapists who are trained in a wide variety of massage techniques. They can assist in recovery from injury, strains and sprains, post-operative care as well as relaxation and treating musculoskeletal dysfunction. All the techniques available can aid the body’s self-healing ability by encouraging the body to move fluid, flush toxins, relax muscles and allow the body to realign.
What should I expect at my first visit?
When you arrive for your first treatment with one of our massage therapists, we will require you to fill out some information about yourself, medical history and what you hope to achieve during your treatment. This is why we usually ask you to arrive 5 minutes early to your appointment.
What to wear to my appointment?
Depending in your treatment, your massage therapist may request you remove some of your clothes to make it easier to treat you, however- if you are not comfortable with this we recommend wearing lose and comfortable clothing. The massage therapist will provide you with a large clean towel to cover yourself with.
What happens during treatment?
During your first appointment, your massage therapist will assess your needs and your muscles. Depending on the nature of your treatment they may concentrate on a specific area of your body or try to get to the root cause of your pain or discomfort.
What health funds do you accept?
We have HICAPS machines at all of our clinics so we can process most health fund claims on the spot. This means that you only pay for the out of pocket rebate to us.
We are also preferred provider for Medibank and therefore can offer our Medibank patients a competitive rate for treatment.
Do I need a doctor’s referral for massage treatment?
No- massage treatment is considered ‘remedial’ and therefore does not require a doctor’s referral in the state of Western Australia
Does Medicare cover massage treatment?
No, it does not.
